my 89 integra
i was looking lor a car that was good on gas for college and i cane across a 89 acura integra d16a1 auto for 450 the car was bone stock becides the radio speakers and the alarm system that dident work. it had a code for the tdc sensor so i put a mew distributer on it and it ran pretty good it has a small problem the car feels like it has no power at times sometimes if you put it to the floor from a stop it will not do anything for about 4 to 5 sec and if you go to give it some gas at certin times it will hesetate and then all of a sudden take off iv put a o2 sensor checked fuses plugs and wires and the o2 sensor helped it alot but sitll isint right any ideas on what it could be the car has 234000 miles and had a new motor at 150000

Reset the light by pulling the 10 amp fuse on the battery terminal. The ECU will store codes until they're erased. If it still comes up check to make sure your wiring to the sensor is good, no exhaust leaks near the sensor, no massive vacuum leaks, proper cam and ignition timing.

Re: my 89 integra
i figured out the problem there was a vaccume hose going from my map sensor to the purge can i think is what its called but its running 1000x better now but i was wondering what all it would take to swap it to 5 speed i have a 99 civic that i toatled that was 5 speed and i was wondering if i could use the trans clutch and flywheel out of it. it has the d16y8 and i know the clutch is hydro so id have to mount a master cylinder

That trans won't bolt up. Unfortunately the Integra D16 has a different bell housing pattern. You could probably make an adapter but that might be more effort than it's worth.

dang well would it be worth it to put the y8 in the teg i know the civic it was in was so much faster than my teg and im gettin tired of the auto or would it just be easier to put a 5 speed for the a1 in it and do some minor mods (headers intake and cams)
