Update 21.03.14

Image

Image

all sorted

Image

Image

Image

nice reflection on the lip

Image

also horn fitted but not wired

Image

also took the top edge from the rocker cover

Image

Image

Image

new turn up is a small fuel leak around the carb area and exhaust is now not just a broken backbox but also the center section had now snapped

also hear wind from the door seals (ones fitted to the car not doors) which also lets car mist up when stood for a while on wet cold days

looking busy over this week coming i think

Ps I love that center console tray. If you find any others in your neck of the woods, please keep us informed! I'd gladly buy one. :)

update 07.04.2014

OMG ive been busy over the last few weeks doing 80+hours on avarge per week

but anyway had some fetteling on the teg had a blown rocker gasket so got a new one from Honda and thought id convert the rocker over and do the gasket the the same time

you can see where it was leaking

Image

Image

Image

Image

clean down - also noticed the gasket would not suit the Civic rocker dew to line up jugs
and also sits lower the the one already fitted so need the civic rocker lug nuts as there smaller/shorter

Image

Image

civic rocker for test

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

also made a new earth strap - took from a VW Golf was to long so cut it down and re soldered it

Image

Image

Image

Image

all fitted - stuck with the older rocker till i sort the bits out

Image

Image

also a repaint the the wiper arms

Image

Image

Image

Image

ill add more later - gotta run

update 12.07.2014

alright guys thought id call in for a update,

been quite bust over the pond we have sun  for a while so my valet/detail work is busy but still got a few bits done

still dont have the windows finished/tinted but did get the tires fitted and put the Mugens on

but FAIL they look way way to small

before i start we had problem with the valves, looked usless so disposed for new when going to the garage
in witch they could not supply as the style was not UK valves, so come back to find the others out which was a rubber seal problem so had to make some more

Image

Image

all done

Image

tires on

Image

Image

come back two hours later to find 2 flat - new valves ordered need to have the redone
but really dont like them when fitted looks to small - add pic later

After that nightmere we moved onto Sounds (love music) got myself some Focal K2 speakers/crossovers from the yard a while ago but was 17cm so no fit into the doors on the teg

again been persistant i wanted them fitted so a custom job was needed

seen a few styles but went balls out with a boot full  started with cardboard cut outs

damm gotta go for ten min back soon

Postby ukteg » July 12th, 2014, 9:31 pm

as i said cardboard cut outs

look how clean - first time i looked in here

Image

Image

Image

This is what i have at the min - Vibe B3 sub with amp - Alpine rear speakers - pioneer fronts

Image

the templates

Image

Image

Image

spent time cutting bits out to get the right shape

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

ready for build
Image

Image

Image

Image

speaker cut

Image

sealed with sound deadning - sealant - screws

Image

Image

time for felt - Autoleads sound carpet

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

speaker in

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

on with the other side same again with the cut out just turned inside out with small ajustment

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

all done

Image

Image

Now the sub box needed changing so took mesurements from that and made it longer and put a slope to the front

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

covered - used all proper clips wires ect

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

all slotted in place looking damm nice i think

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

also grabbed a bargin on this amp made by Lanzar Vibe 531

Image

still need to fit it in and the crossovers and tweeters

hope you like

Nice car man! Love the look and how it looks restored. Can't wait to see pics with the rims on the car. Of all the things I like I actually love the sound system you made the most. I'm really impressed with it because I have never done it before and now realize how people do it with the cardboard template. Keep up the good work man.

Well after running the amp for a while all felt fine - untill i left it on while picking a mate up when come back 6mins later and car wont start + automatic so cant bump start it

Power junky amp

installed a noise suppressor to help stop a little wizzing sound

Image

Image

Image

Also got my powercap but after further reading these can also steal power dew to the recharge side of the unit - not yet installed this

Image

am also running it on a to thin power cabel with a 30amp fuse it should be a 60 but that will defo melt the wire -

a new 2000w vibe wire kit to fit next also upgrade the leads from the ALT to the Batt and an earth kit to

also need a better Batt so getting a yellow Optima one

mate turned up in his new car

Image

Image

Image

nice bit of motor - although had my hands on it for a full inside clean day he got it

off topic found these at the yard - perfect for round the car at shows

update 09.05.2015

forgot to add this last time
this is what happened the other month when someone went down the side of the car

Image

Image

Image

his car

Image

Image

Image

Image

back to the job in hand Stereo

well after all the install i was chasing and electrical buzz within the setup coming through the speakers

this comes in dew to
Amp connections,
Hi powered amp being low power fed,
bad earths within the car,
under rated stereo made to do more,

so after a few times of removing the set up and checking back of what was done,

id put a fatter power cable from the battery to the amp, the amp has 40cm of fitted cable not able to remove, so id fitted a extra fuse holder,
one wire from the amp to one side and the fatter one from the battery to the other side - worked ok so i thought, so changed the set up for a different holder fed direct by the fat cable

Image

Image

Image

went for a outside fitment but the seat would not close back up, also looked untidy

Image

so all back out and fit it inside

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

all back in and guess what - same problem

Image

last of the day shot

Image

next task - engine earth cable possible to thin so uprated that

Image

still no change so changed the Earth from the amp to the body, got a Kicker earth point

old set up

Image

new point also made shorter

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

and still no better still buzzing, getting pritty pissed we it by this time and wont stop till its done it also has a large power off pulse i dont like

sat down and thought something is missing...............CLICK

wonder if the stereo it self wants a earth and the OEM unit screws from behind to the frame

ill try one so made a cable

Image

found a place to screw to the stereo OEM place and then to the frame

Image

OMG the buzzing has gone - took the earth away buzzing back touch the screw again to earth - buzzing gone

:D :D :D :D :D :D

small drive out with a working stereo

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

left it for a week or so and was not happy again dew to wanting more clear better sound

went and got another stereo and DAB unit antana

Back for an update, Ive been away for a bit to long,

as some may know ive moved into a large unit and merging our Detailing and parts business in one place and its sure taking its time
so not much time doing mods to the Integra but ive a list for it before the bad weather comes in

ive been out and about in it for the odd drive out for pics for the fun

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

really need to get some paint work done on the roof and bonnet/hood
also popped a bulb out of its socket on the rear light and got the bulb stuck inside and my battery really cant cope with the power the Amp keeps taking

and also found that after heavy rain and the car stood once i get it and use the blowers i get water dripping from the fan area

not sure how its getting in just yet
