New shocks?
Hey folks! New username sign-up but have been creeping on the forums for years now.
Does anybody know where I can buy brand new shocks for an 88SE that I just purchased after hunting for 7 years lol. I want to go with the ground control setup and they only support Koni sport, KYB, and Illumina. Any help would be appreciated.

The Konis and Illuminas have been discontinued. If you can find a set of old Konis they are rebuildable. KYB does still make the GR-2/Excel-G shocks for our cars.

Are the GR-2 adjustable? I just looked at the website and they seem like they are just OE replacements.

Unfortunately they're just OE replacements. I'd call around to some vendors that still list the Tokico Illuminas and see if they actually have them. Don't know of anyone who still makes adjustable struts for our cars aside from Medieval-Pro.

I couldn't find a darn thing for the car, and that was a few years ago. If I could buy anything right now money aside, it would be the teins

New shocks?
Yeah I searched and asked around, but Tein's seemed to be the unanimous choice. Now my question is: If I plan to lower 2 inches. Does anyone know the recommended spring rates or revalving specs?

Re: New shocks?
Talk to Marcus at Heel Toe as he is the one in charge of these. Tein has had my car for a little over a month over the summer for testing and re-valving for the Integras. I have driven on the Teins since the were released and they are now even better. They softened the rear spring rate a little and then completely change how the valving works.
My car was on display at the Tein booth this weekend at JCCS.

Fantastic news thank you! I have started putting together funds for the Tein's as they are now the best choice to go with. I just wanted to make sure I didn't make the mistake of lowering it and then cheap out on the valving process.

Re: New shocks?
Does anyone know the length of the stock rear springs? What if I were to replace the rear springs with landrum springs, but the same height as the stock, so as to not run in to any problems. I cant, for the life of me, find the dimensions for the stock rear spring. I was just gonna replace with somme KYB GR2 Struts and shocks. what would be a good mid-grade from KYB? Or could I pair kyb shocks in the front with different shocks in the back so I could lower it an inch?

Recently bought some ST 2" lowering springs from a member off here, and initially I was going to go with Tokico blue shocks. However I did a bit more research on them and realized they wont last very long with the ST spring rates. What shocks are you running with your ST Springs? Koni Reds probably, but are there any other options?

You dont have to buy a new cat. Generally when they do a custom exhaust its from the cat back.
