Buying & Replacing Fuel Injector

Postby ms2000 » February 14th, 2017, 9:40 pm

Gas is leaking at the Fuel Injector and needs to be replaced
Are there gaskets need changing as well?

I never did it before - is it easy - any video links?
Where can I buy these?

Each of the injectors have a set of o-rings top & bottom as well a some other rubber bushings - https://www.acurapartswarehouse.com/parts-list/1989-acura-integra-3dr-ls-ka5mt/intake-manifold.html

So there are only 3 gaskets?
https://www.acurapartswarehouse.com/par ... ifold.html
Seal Ring, Injector 16472-P10-A01 4 (from the diagram)
Cushion Ring, Injector (Nok) 16473-P10-A01 5
O-Ring 16074-ZY3-000 21

I buy 4 sets of them 3 items above - that is enough? Should u buy any of these extra, just in case?
I just want to make sure that I have the right parts before start working on it - thanks.

Yep - you have it right, 3 parts each for each injector. They are pretty cheap as I recall but you have to ask how long will you have the car to warrant buying them now?

Thanks @gtpilot
Well this is what I debated - I have a friend helping me to replace the gasket not the FI which is expensive - hope the leak will go away with the new gasket. Prices for the 3 gaskets are like $11, $2, and $2 from Honda - the $11 one is the one to prevent leak - price variation seems to show quality.

Thanks @gtpilot

Yeah last weekend we changed the seals on FI with OEM parts - no leak anymore.
Two shops wanted me to change FI quoting $400

Kragen mechanic said change the seals first - there is this video that shows how faulty FI responds whereas my car runs smoothly so it must be the seals faulty- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yznLNaMqkZU

So it sounded like the seals to me - for $70 part, the prob is fixed.

Incidentally, I have a video of my car on "For Sale" forum

How much could it fetch on eBay?

I never sold a car on eBay - is there anything I should be concerned about?
