What did you do to your teg today?

Postby MinkelR » March 1st, 2013, 8:06 am

Figured I'd bring this back. What did y'all do to or with your teg?

I did a once over on all the fluids and installed a new drivers bottom seat cover from Robert. Thanks! :D

Went very well. Just have to watch out during uninstallation of the old cover not to tear the anchors for the side bolsters out of the foam. Little tricky putting them back on too. Everything else is just removing, disassembling the seat and pulling all them little rings off.

New tires two days ago!!!
Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S in the factory size.
So far, I am very impressed with these tires.

I wanted Bridgestone Potenza RE 960s' again but they stopped making them for a 14" wheel. :-(

I bought the same tires a while back. Awesome tires. They were a little squirmy around corners but that stopped after a few hundred miles.

I miss my Potenza's. I got some off-brand tires last year and can't wait for them to wear down. I'll go for the Michelin's next time. We should start a petition to Bridgestone.

Today - I decided to fix my head gasket and keep my Integra!

Yeah Kevin!!! :D :D Great decision IMO. After all, I was thinking of stealing the blue babe and towing her to a old skool meet and then telephoning you the location. Hahaha. ;)

Right on! Let me know if I can lend a hand. I've replaced more than my fair share of head gaskets.

Ryan,
I've been thinking of paying a friend of Robert's (Martin) to do the job for me as I don't have the time - and I particularly don't have the garage space as my boat project is taking up 95% of my man cave. How big/difficult a job is it? What else should I consider doing while I have everything completely apart?

Electric is also the same mounting points and connectors.

A head gasket is a decent amount of work. I'd grab some ARP head studs and a Beck/Arnley head gasket. Check to make sure the head and block are still level. Also if your water pump and timing belt are coming due it would be a good idea to knock those out.

Thanks Ryan. Noticed my injectors are leaky yesterday too. I need to figure out what to about that. Robert mentioned that Honda used one type of injector for a ton of different cars. Anybody know something about that?

Yep. Robert posted them up here: viewtopic.php?t=187
I picked some up from a 96 accord and sent them into witchhunter in Bothell to be cleaned and leak tested. Come back with all new seals and a before/after flow test sheet. Nice peace of mind if you have the extra cash.

Mind posting what the cost of the injectors were, from I'm guessing P&P, and the cost of WitchHunters cleaning? I'd be inclined to do this if I knew. 8-)
