Rear Axle Locking Plates

Postby chedda_j » February 15th, 2013, 7:08 am

Now in stock are 20 rear axle locking plates. Designed by myself, out of cold rolled commercial grade steel, cnc laser cut, hand welded, primed and painted. These plates help remove unsprung weight. They do so by replacing the internal sway bar, which is very heavy, almost 20 lbs. These locking plates effectively lock the rear axle, preventing it from pivoting on the live bearing, and turn the rear axle into a large sway bar itself. This plate will reduce weight and stiffen the feel of the car, by doing so it also prevents rear steer and the need for an external bar, yet can be used in conjunction with an external bar for high performance. The price is $40 shipped can/usa, and can be found on http://www.cheddasauto.webs.com in the webstore. See accessories like new linkages and bushings for best performance.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Here are some in Metallic Blue.

What bushings do you make that will compliment this?

There are bushing kits and linkage kits also available. The bushings are being worked on right now and the linkages are being cut by the CNC laser this week. Here are some photos of the hand made ones.

The linkages will be made of Cold Rolled commercial grade steel like the locking plates, 1/8" thick and about 20% larger for added strength. To increase rigidly, they are pressed with my set of Dimple Dies to flare the holes. The stock bushings will work in these linkages, but the two cars that I had taken the stock bushings out of to measure were very worn and undersized, so new bushings would be a good idea.

Ok I would like a package for my rear end.
Could you put together something good, (money is no object)
also I saw the strut bar for the front,
but it wasn't available yet,
I want that one of those.
Thanks!

Edit: I have new Shocks all around and Ground control feather thingys in the back, also 27,5 mm Torsion bars in front, and the Radius arms are replaced with new ones.
I have new driveshafts right and left and are currently waiting for new bearing to the Intermediate shaft.

I can vouch for Chedda. he's done a load of fab stuff for our integras. Might want to check out his website "Cheddasauto" and he's all over face book too, on his own and on our sister site "Classic Integra". Welcome aboard. I believe you're the only member from Sweden and if you know others around your corner of the world please let them know about us. :D

So how much would a whole package come to Chedda?
Blue 1987 Integra
B20VTEC with Stage 2 Exedy clutch and lightweight flywheel, DC headers, custom exhaust with APEXi muffler, and Hondata S300 tune.
Upgrade Motoring 27.5mm torsion bars with KYB GR-2s and B&G rear springs.
