update 07.04.2014

OMG ive been busy over the last few weeks doing 80+hours on avarge per week

but anyway had some fetteling on the teg had a blown rocker gasket so got a new one from Honda and thought id convert the rocker over and do the gasket the the same time

you can see where it was leaking

Image

Image

Image

Image

clean down - also noticed the gasket would not suit the Civic rocker dew to line up jugs
and also sits lower the the one already fitted so need the civic rocker lug nuts as there smaller/shorter

Image

Image

civic rocker for test

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

also made a new earth strap - took from a VW Golf was to long so cut it down and re soldered it

Image

Image

Image

Image

all fitted - stuck with the older rocker till i sort the bits out

Image

Image

also a repaint the the wiper arms

Image

Image

Image

Image

ill add more later - gotta run

update 12.07.2014

alright guys thought id call in for a update,

been quite bust over the pond we have sun  for a while so my valet/detail work is busy but still got a few bits done

still dont have the windows finished/tinted but did get the tires fitted and put the Mugens on

but FAIL they look way way to small

before i start we had problem with the valves, looked usless so disposed for new when going to the garage
in witch they could not supply as the style was not UK valves, so come back to find the others out which was a rubber seal problem so had to make some more

Image

Image

all done

Image

tires on

Image

Image

come back two hours later to find 2 flat - new valves ordered need to have the redone
but really dont like them when fitted looks to small - add pic later

After that nightmere we moved onto Sounds (love music) got myself some Focal K2 speakers/crossovers from the yard a while ago but was 17cm so no fit into the doors on the teg

again been persistant i wanted them fitted so a custom job was needed

seen a few styles but went balls out with a boot full  started with cardboard cut outs

damm gotta go for ten min back soon

as i said cardboard cut outs

look how clean - first time i looked in here

Image

Image

Image

This is what i have at the min - Vibe B3 sub with amp - Alpine rear speakers - pioneer fronts

Image

the templates

Image

Image

Image

spent time cutting bits out to get the right shape

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

ready for build
Image

Image

Image

Image

speaker cut

Image

sealed with sound deadning - sealant - screws

Image

Image

time for felt - Autoleads sound carpet

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

speaker in

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

on with the other side same again with the cut out just turned inside out with small ajustment

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

all done

Image

Image

Now the sub box needed changing so took mesurements from that and made it longer and put a slope to the front

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

covered - used all proper clips wires ect

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

all slotted in place looking damm nice i think

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

also grabbed a bargin on this amp made by Lanzar Vibe 531

Image

still need to fit it in and the crossovers and tweeters

hope you like

Nice car man! Love the look and how it looks restored. Can't wait to see pics with the rims on the car. Of all the things I like I actually love the sound system you made the most. I'm really impressed with it because I have never done it before and now realize how people do it with the cardboard template. Keep up the good work man.

small update

30.08.14

Well after running the amp for a while all felt fine - untill i left it on while picking a mate up when come back 6mins later and car wont start + automatic so cant bump start it

Power junky amp

installed a noise suppressor to help stop a little wizzing sound

Also got my powercap but after further reading these can also steal power dew to the recharge side of the unit - not yet installed this

Image

am also running it on a to thin power cabel with a 30amp fuse it should be a 60 but that will defo melt the wire -

a new 2000w vibe wire kit to fit next also upgrade the leads from the ALT to the Batt and an earth kit to
