Have you checked with your local locksmith? Because Honda/Acura dealers don't want to play fair doesn't mean you still can't get a key cut using the code elsewhere. :geek:

I was just mentioning that a lot of dealerships are very ho-hum in helping with our older model cars. The only recommendations they have is to head to pick and pull outlets. I asked a service tech one time where the PCV valve was on an 86 Prelude and he had no clue. An older mechanic in the shop had to think about it for a while then said, "Oh yeah! We don't even bother changing those anymore." :? As for the dismantling of the key cylinders, I believe the old paper clip trick might work. The glove box key is held in with two small phillips head screws I know.

- It has been several years, but I was able to get a factory key for mine. If I remember correctly, the key is the same as some other acura models which were newer. I just gave them VIN and they were able to make one. I didnt want a copy of the one I had because it was getting worn out....thus why I wanted new one.

I went to the Delray Acura website to get the part number of the master key (35113-SD4-A11). I then googled that and found that it shows as available on Honda's estore (part number 9) http://estore.honda.com/acura/parts/vie ... 01&dl=#009

Acura dealers can do it. They are just not recommended to any longer sadly. Be nice to them and see what happens.
