Postby bucd » July 13th, 2014, 9:19 pm

I was looking up rack and pinion part on rock auto, there appears to be two that's remanufactured. But I dont' know what the difference is other then one costing twice as much and the TWP number is different. Any help is appreciated.

This is for a 87 SE.

TRW Part # 607113
Remanufactured Long Rack; w/POWER STEERING; LS Model [Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty] (Only 2 Remaining)

$77.47 $0.00 $77.47

TRW Part # 157113R
Remanufactured Long Rack; w/POWER STEERING,; LS Model [Wholesaler Closeout -- 30 Day Warranty] (Only 3 Remaining)

$144.79 $0.00 $144.79

That's what it shows.

Thanks,

Just looked and I don't see a single difference. Sometimes, I've noticed, Rock Auto will have another part listed on there that is just on clearance but the same exact part and they will only have "x" amount left. This one does have different part numbers though. I would call Rock Auto up themselves and ask. They are selling it so thy should know. Never called them myself so I don't know how they are.

Thanks for feedback. I tried calling but the wait was too long. I sent an email as well. Hope to hear something soon.
Only 2 left of the cheaper ones, so hoping to find out soon so i can get one if that one works.

Just got email back from them. Appears that both will work as long as car has power steering.

So just FYI for anyone else out there looking.

thanks,
