How to safely disconnect the 4P connector on Crank angle sensor?

How to safely disconnect the 4P connector Crank angle (TDC/Cylinder) sensor - worried about breaking the plastic?

It appears there is a oil leak from the electrical wire grommet - tips on repairing - see picture?

Just pretty much gotta ease it off of there with a thin flathead. Maybe spray some electrical connection cleaner on there first

Is it difficult - easy to break?

Because some people say "There's a little plastic tab inside the slot that connects the plastic shell to the metal tab. If you can tweak it just right the connector will come off. Odds are it was designed as a one-time fit though, which would make it hard.

That said, if the grommet is leaking, that means the internal seals have failed, and oil is getting by them. Best to replace the unit entirely. That kind of wear is also common in the B series distributors, and by the time it happens, the shaft has usually worn to a point where new seals will not fix the problem. "

Hmm. I've replaced my dizzy o ring seal and cam sensor seal before because of a leak. I didn't have any trouble getting the connector off (unless I got lucky) and the seals seemed to do their job. I would try doing that first since it's the cheapest option. $5 is better than $250. Obviously you should coat the seals with oil before install to keep them from cracking.

I did that 2 yrs ago with Honda part - the leak is elsewhere - suspected area is the wire harness grommet
