Hi all,
I have the retractable headlight light on on my dash as well as the battery light that have come on steady.
Fist assumption was obviously the alternator, however I didn't think the retract. headlight warning light on the dash would come on as well...
I have not had anything tested yet, have not looked for a charge at the battery, etc (as i have not had time).
Basically I am just curious if anyone knows if the retract headlight warning light also pops on with alternator failure or not.

Yes they both pop up with an alternator failure.

When both come on, it's almost a guaranteed alternator failure.

Re: Retractable Headlight light and Battery Light
Put a multimeter on the battery with the engine running and with the engine off (for a few hours).
You should see at least 14 volts at the battery with the engine running and 12.7 volts with the engine off.
Also test alternator positive to battery negative. That will tell you if there is a problem with the with the alternator or the positive cable.
Post results please.
