Possible optional OEM part?

Postby Mikakey » June 6th, 2014, 1:40 am

So I was tightening up the ebrake on my teg today and saw that my seat belt buckles have a part on them that comes off so easy on the top. Can't help but wonder if its optional and if everyone else has it? I've always noticed them there but just noticed how easy they come on and go off with one screw. Just thought I'd ask.

Image notice the one screw. After unscrewing they just slide off.

These were installed by the dealer due to a recall on the seat belt buckles. The red plastic release button would get faded and chip, lodging plastic in the buckle rendering it useless. The additional piece makes it so you cannot hit the red button with the metal buckle and break it.

Hmmm so I got the replaced seat belt buckles and they still don't work for crap. Passenger side likes to let go whenever. Thanks for the info though. Didn't know

Talk to Acura about it. Technically they're covered under warranty replacement. If the dealership refuses, complain to Acura's regional customer service office.
